According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, the Republican 2019 budget proposal includes major cuts to Non -Defense Discretionary Programs (NDD), much of which comes from programs that aid low- and moderate-income individuals and families, while proposing more tax cuts for the wealthy, and increased defense spending. The budget “…would reduce NDD spending to its lowest level as a percent of the economy since the Hoover Administration.”
